Thanks, Hugh

I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to Hugh Hewitt. Hugh is an evangelical, a former Emmy-awarding winner reporter at PBS, bestselling author, law professor, talk-radio host, and blogger extraordinaire. I have only met him once, but from all accounts, he is smart, generous, gracious, and has a great sense of humor.

Hugh's book, In, But Not Of: A Guide to Christian Ambition, should be read by every single high-school senior. Even those of us who are older can learn quite a bit from this short book. In this book he advises his readers to "Start and maintain your own Web log (blog)."

Joe Carter of Evangelical Outpost (another excellent blog), began a list of Hugh Hewitt Inspired Blogs.

Count this modest blog as another one inspired by Hugh.

And by the way, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of Hugh's latest book: If It's Not Close, They Can't Cheat: Crushing the Democrats in Every Election and Why Your Life Depends on It. While you're at it, if you know any "swing voters," make sure to pick up a gift copy for them as well! The book makes an excellent case for George W. Bush and against John Kerry.

The essence of Hugh's book can be summarized by a line he quotes from Die Hard 3: "I don't like you because you're going to get me killed!" If you think America would be safer under the leadership of John Kerry, you need to get this book.

Along the way, Hugh gives helpful counsel on how we, as ordinary citizens, can make a difference in our culture and in the political race.
