If Olasky Had to Choose Between an Evangelical and an Originalist...

...I can't speak for others, but I really want an originalist. If I could be assured that an atheist would be an originalist, that would be fine with me. If an evangelical nominee wanted to put in the Constitution what's not there, I'd oppose him or her. I'm glad Miers is a conservative evangelical, because if her goal is to please Christ she is far less likely than someone without that compass to have the goal of pleasing academic and media liberals. But once the lifetime appointment is gained, there are no guarantees -- regardless of paper trail, track record, or anything else." (World Mag Blog)
